I recently had the pleasure of speaking to my niece and nephew, who are currently in high school

. My nephew told me that he hates math and can’t wait to get out of that class and move on to another course (he’s been taking several honors courses as well as advanced placement courses).

 He said he was certain that he would never be good at math.

 And would probably end up working some job where it wasn’t important to know how to do math problems—and one without much opportunity, by the way.
