How to be funny and happy

To be happy you need to laugh every day and see the funny side of things.

You can’t be miserable or angry and still be happy, you have to let go of your worries and enjoy life to the full!

It can take time to change your attitude and behavior, but once you do you will find that being happy doesn’t just mean feeling good –

it also means being funny too! Here are some suggestions on how to be funny and happy...

Watch Comedy Shows

If you’re trying to be funny, it helps to study comedians.

Watching stand-up or late-night shows is a great way of learning about humor—and how it can make people feel.

People love laughing at well-told jokes—and studies show that people who watch comedy regularly are less likely to suffer from depression.

This isn’t an excuse for TV addiction, but a reason to build laughter into your life.

And if you want to learn more about how comedy works.

  Tips

A healthy lifestyle should include some exercise and good nutrition.

The first step in improving your health is to eat better and increase physical activity in order to lose weight.

Exercising will help you lose weight, lower blood pressure, improve heart health, reduce stress levels, control diabetes, and improve overall fitness.

Choose activities that you enjoy so that they don't become another chore on your list of things to do each day.

Watch Stand-Up Comedians

The easiest way to learn how to be funny is by watching other people do it.

If you’re going through a rough patch, pick up a DVD of your favorite stand-up comedian or rent one of those comedy specials from iTunes.

Sit back, laugh, cry if you have to...and take notes.

There’s probably something they do that you can use in your own life. What jokes make you laugh hardest?

Why do they work? How could you incorporate them into your everyday vernacular?

Laugh at Yourself First

If you take yourself too seriously, it’s easy to become uptight. Try not to have a holier than thou attitude—

not only will others see right through it, but they may also doubt your ability to lead.

Keep things light-hearted by recognizing that even serious situations can have humorous elements, like having plenty of fun at work parties or joking around with friends while out for a drink.

You might just find that stress melts away when you learn how to laugh at yourself first.

Write a Joke Book

Joke books can help you get started. You might want to jot down a few things that make you laugh as well as a few things that your friends have said or done that made you laugh—

either way, get yourself laughing often. It’s important to consider what makes other people laugh too, however, since we all have different senses of humor.

Once you have a list of jokes and gags (or even written out jokes) it’s time to practice telling them with ease.

The more you tell a joke, the better you will become at telling it. The better you tell a joke, the funnier it will become!

Tell Stories

Telling stories is also a great way to show off your sense of humor.

Think about your day-to-day life: what weird thing happened on your commute today?

Were you late for work because someone kept bumping into you on purpose? Remember that strange person at lunch who told really bad jokes?

By telling stories from real life, you can show off how hilarious (and relatable) you are. Just make sure not to use punchlines from other people’s jokes!

Enjoy Life by Living It Fully

Think about it.

Really, think about what you’re doing for a moment.

If you don’t have time to do something today because you have so much on your plate, maybe it isn’t a good idea in the first place.

Think about how important an activity is in relation to all of life’s priorities—family, health, relationships, etc.—and prioritize accordingly.

You might find that some things just aren’t worth sacrificing everything else for. And if they are, you may want to consider whether they deserve such a high spot on your list.

Practice Humor Everywhere

If you want to learn how to be funny, practice humor everywhere—in social situations, at work, while you’re grocery shopping.

Spend some time a day thinking of witty comebacks or jokes in your head and work on delivering them with confidence when you need them.

 If you’re out and about chatting with others, let something silly slip into your conversation every now and then. Practice making people laugh;

eventually, humor will become a bigger part of who you are as a person. And don’t forget that being funny doesn’t mean you have to tell jokes all the time!

Some of life’s funniest moments happen when we say or do things without realizing they could be considered humorous. And remember:

Humor is subjective, so what makes one person chuckle might not make another one giggle. Be true to yourself and your sense of humor, even if it means taking some risks.

Don’t Take Things Too Seriously

The best way to make others laugh is by taking things lightly.

By not taking yourself too seriously, you’ll encourage others to do so as well, which will ultimately make them feel relaxed around you.

If everyone else is relaxed, they’re more likely to smile and laugh with you. This can help create a fun atmosphere that encourages humor.

It also helps if you can poke fun at yourself occasionally—everyone likes a good self-deprecating joke!
