Hello guys...Hope that you are enjoying well!
So let's get started.
Resolutions that Stick! Four Pillars that Drive Success
The New Year has come and gone, and now it’s time to get down to business on those resolutions you set back in January.
Odds are that of
the people who made resolutions, more than half won’t be able to fulfill them
by March—and that’s not even because they aren’t committed to their goal or
didn’t want it badly enough; rather, it’s because the resolutions weren’t
realistic or just plain weren’t achievable.
– SMART Goals
When you make your New Year’s resolutions, be sure to establish realistic and measurable goals. (Example: Get in shape. Be healthier). And then break down those goals into smaller, attainable ones. Rather than saying you want to lose 20 pounds, aim for two pounds a week.
(Example: I want to lose 20 pounds by June 30th.) You’ll hit your target goal faster and feel great about your progress along the way. – Accountability: If you don’t have someone keeping tabs on your goals, it can be hard to stay motivated and on track.
Find someone who will hold you accountable—whether it’s
a friend or family member, or even an online community of like-minded
individuals—and ask them to check in with you regularly so they can help keep
you on track.
– Visualize and Remind Yourself
It’s important to have concrete goals, even when your New Year’s resolution is a broad, sweeping change. One way to do so? Create an action board (aka mood board) and pin it somewhere you can see it every day.
Put up pictures of where you want to be and how you want to feel in one year—then refer back to them daily for inspiration as you make progress toward your goal.
Make Them Specific: We know what we want, but sometimes we need a
little help getting there. Make sure your resolutions are specific by including
details like time frames and numbers to help keep you on track.
– Create Accountability Partners
All great resolutions start with peer support. Studies have shown that people are more likely to succeed in achieving their goals when they enlist friends, family, and co-workers in their efforts. The reason is obvious: it takes a village to achieve anything great, whether it’s losing weight or starting a new business.
Think about how you can use your social network to help make your 2014 resolutions stick. For example, if you want to lose weight, consider finding a friend who wants to lose weight too—and then swap healthy recipes and tips.
Or if you want to become an entrepreneur, find someone who
has already taken that step—and ask them for advice on what worked (or didn’t
work) for them.
– Readjust Priorities
If you’re currently working more than your ideal amount, now is a great time to rebalance your schedule.
The days of loyalty are gone – employers want top performance for their money, not just a warm body occupying a seat. Now is also a great time to take stock of what you do outside of work and make sure your time away from work is just as worthwhile as at work.
That said – don’t stress if it feels like too much at once. It’s better to prioritize one thing each month over several things all at once. You can always come back to other things later on in the year.
And when prioritizing, keep in
mind your long-term goals; these should be near and dear to your heart and will
give you something tangible to strive towards throughout 2018.
